Breath & Body Alive is a collective dedicated to supporting the healing justice efforts of Black folks and other historically marginalized communities. We affirm life, support healing, and cultivate collective recovery by offering accessible breath practices, yoga, and other healing justice modalities to individuals and communities that have historically been overlooked within mainstream health and wellness industries. We are an unapologetically Black Queer Feminist & Womxnist-led collective that welcomes anyone desirous of our offerings. By centering the needs, desires, safety, dignity, and sacred humanity of Black, Disabled, Queer, Womxn—among the most marginalized in many societies—we pursue collective liberation for everyone, whether or not they share these identities. Our services are offered free of charge to folks regardless of ability to pay. These services include individual breath and movement sessions that incorporate BBM principles. We also run two collective care circles: one that is open to any and everyone, the other is exclusively for Black artists/cultural workers/activists. Both collective care circles meet weekly on Saturdays.
